The Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting recognizes Lori Gilbert's extraordinary contributions to public broadcasting.
During her years of distinguished service on the CPB Board, Lori Gilbert has worked to strengthen support to public broadcasting journalistic endeavors and to bring attention to the importance of public broadcasting services in rural communities. As chair of the CPB Public Awareness Initiative and the Community Engagement and Diversity Committee, she raised awareness of the value of public media at the local and national level, deepened our understanding of the importance of diversity, and furthered CPB's mission to the benefit of our nation.
Lori Gilbert has been a passionate advocate for public broadcasting and an invaluable colleague. We mark the end of her service on the CPB Board with respect, admiration, and gratitude.
