Resolution of the Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting

Digital TV Advisory Panel Recommendations

Five in favor, one absent

WHEREAS,

The Congress has appropriated to CPB $48,427,164 for fiscal year 2003, "for equipment and facilities to enable public broadcasters to meet the statutory deadline for digital conversion...to be awarded as determined by the Corporation in consultation with public radio and television licensees or permittees, or their designated representatives"; and

WHEREAS,

CPB management has recently conducted a review of the uses and purposes of these funds in consultation with a station-based advisory panel and representatives of their membership organizations, and sought additional opinion from the station community through presentations, and the publication of drafts for comment; and

WHEREAS,

Following said consultation the advisory panel has agreed upon final recommendations regarding the highest and best uses of these funds;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,

That the Board adopts the recommendations of the Digital Advisory Panel as contained in the attached memoranda which is incorporated herein.
