Four in favor, two absent

RESOLVED,

That the Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting expresses its appreciation to

LILLY ENDOWMENT INC.

Since 1997, Lilly Endowment Inc. has provided generous funding support for the acclaimed PBS newsmagazine program "Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly," produced by Thirteen/WNET New York.

As a result of Lilly Endowment's leadership and support, "Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly," the only program of its kind on television, has become a notable example of fair and balanced news reporting. Its thoughtful coverage of religion and ethics news serves as a model for other broadcasters, respectfully recognizing the importance of religion in American life.

Honored with numerous awards from the broadcast industry for outstanding journalism, "Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly" illustrates public broadcasting's commitment to excellence and public service.

For seven years of generous contributions to the development, production and broadcast of "Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly," the CPB Board expresses its deep appreciation to Lilly Endowment Inc.
