Recognizing the 35th Anniversary of Iowa Public Television

Des Moines, Iowa

RESOLVED,

That the Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting Recognizes the 35th Anniversary of Iowa Public Television and Congratulates it on its Contributions to the State of Iowa and its Citizens

The Board of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting recognizes the 35th Anniversary of Iowa Public Television, Iowa's only statewide, noncommercial resource for quality television programming.

Over 35 years of service, Iowa Public Television has grown to serve nearly one million viewers a week from all 99 counties and parts of all surrounding states. Seventy percent of Iowa's teachers and 250,000 schoolchildren a week rely on Iowa Public Television in their classrooms.

The vital services of Iowa public television will be strengthened through digital service that will afford Iowans opportunities to learn more, be more informed, be more entertained, and be more inspired through high definition, multicasting, and datacasting services.

With its unique dedication to its Iowa audience, Iowa Public Television provides a safe place for children's television viewing and learning, provides quality programming about Iowa's issues, and offers unique, interesting, and important programming to all Iowans, regardless of where they live or what they can afford.
