Resolution of the Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting
October 29, 2007

Appreciation for the Staff and Management of FM94/9 and KPBS

WHEREAS,

Terrible recent wildfires in southern California have caused loss of life and destruction of property on an enormous scale throughout the region; and

WHEREAS,

In covering the story, public radio and TV stations, KPBS in San Diego, lost their signals on Mount Miquel the morning of October 23, due to the wildfire; and

WHEREAS,

FM94/9 in San Diego, unaffected by the fire, suspended the broadcast of its music format during the height of the tragedy and carried KPBS-FM's continuous coverage of the unfolding events.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT

The Corporation for Public Broadcasting offers its heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to FM94/9 and KPBS for their extraordinary collaboration in providing outstanding coverage to the community of San Diego during the catastrophic events that unfolded in late October of the year 2007.
