Resolution of the Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting

WHEREAS,
On February 18, 1989, the Board passed a resolution designating and delegating to the CPB President the authority to act as "head" of CPB in its status as a "designated federal entity," solely for the purposes of compliance with the Inspector General Act Amendments of 1988 (P.L. 100-504) (the "Act"); and
WHEREAS,
The Board seeks to revise and clarify its position on the general supervision of the CPB Inspector General in order to demonstrate to the General Accounting Office and to Congress, CPB's good-faith commitment to fully implement the Act in a manner consistent with the provisions and spirit of the Public Broadcasting Act.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The CPB Board designates itself as the "head" of CPB in CPB's capacity as a "designated federal entity" and directs that the CPB Inspector General shall report to and be under the general supervision of the CPB Board, through its Audit Committee, for purposes of performing his/her functions as Inspector General.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT:
On administrative matters, the CPB Inspector General is subject to the general policies of CPB as executed by the CPB President; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT:
The Board's resolution of February 18, 1989 is hereby amended and superseded to the extent that it conflicts with this resolution.
