RESOLVED,
That the Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting expresses its appreciation to
Ken Towery
Chairman of the Board, 1989-1990
Member of the Board, 1981-1990
For the quiet dignity that has marked his service and dedication to the Corporation, but especially for his fair and thoughtful insight and willingness to recognize the validity of all opinions; for his personal commitment to public broadcasting; for his term of service as Chairman of the Board, which contributed to the overall stability and unity of the Board and of the the public broadcasting community at a time of critical changes; for his leadership in the development of the National Program Plan; for his steadfast championing of education; for his keen understanding of human nature and his common sense approach to problem solving; for his service to the following CPB Board committees: Finance, Budget and Development; Audit; Mission and Goals; Policy and Planning; for his chairmanship of the Audit Committee; and for being a true gentleman.
The Board expresses its deepest appreciation to Mr. Towery and wishes him continued success in his future pursuits.
