RESOLVED,
That the Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting expresses its appreciation to
Archie C. Purvis
Member of the Board, 1987-1991
For his service and dedication to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting; for his professional, results-oriented business approach to issues facing the Corporation; for the valuable telecommunications experience and international marketing expertise he brought to the Board; for his efforts in support of training and human resources development of women and minorities throughout public broadcasting; for his fair consideration of the many sides of every issue; for his aggressive support for and assistance with CPB's launching of Public Television International; for his effective efforts to broaden CPB's horizons and expectations with respect to the changing program financing and marketing environments; and for his service to the CPB Board Ad Hoc Committee on New Initiatives and Finance, Audit , Mission and Goals, Policy and Planning, and Board Compensation Committees.
The Board wishes Mr. Purvis continued success in his future pursuits.
