Resolution of the Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting
January 28, 1992

Acceptance of the Statement of Programming Objectives

Unanimously

WHEREAS,

CPB Management, in conformity with the "Agreement Between the Public Broadcasting Service and CPB Regarding Television Programming," dated February 26, 1991, has developed the 1992 Statement of Programming Objectives. That Statement is based on the findings of the CPB annual Needs Assessment and other national public television program objectives established by Congress and/or by the CPB Board of Directors; and

WHEREAS,

under the Agreement, the Statement of Programming Objectives is to be transmitted to PBS, whereupon PBS is to be primarily responsible for financing public television programs that address the issues, themes, needs and or objectives identified in the Statement, with the support of the CPB Television Program Fund and other funders and suppliers of programming for public television; and

WHEREAS,

the CPB Board has reviewed the Statement of Programming Objectives with CPB Management.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

that the CPB Board of Directors accepts and endorses the objectives described in CPB's Draft 1992 Statement of entitled "Deepening the Commitment to Excellence and Innovation" and directs CPB Management, after final editing of this draft, to transmit the Statement to PBS.
