Expresses Its Deep Appreciation for the Accomplishments and Vision of
Jack McBride

The Board of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting recognizes the extraordinary contributions of Jack McBride, one of the great pioneers and visionaries, who not only shaped public broadcasting in Nebraska but also influenced the national Public Broadcasting Service throughout America, and in many other countries as well.
Jack McBride dedicated his professional life to enriching and broadening the lives of every Nebraskan through educational television. For more than four decades, he guided the development of what is now known as NET Television and NET Radio. Under his leadership, NET has become one of the nation's premier public broadcasting organizations.
Among his many honors, Jack McBride was named the 1992 Outstanding Public Television Manager from PBS/APTS; he received the 1993 Central Educational Network Carpe Diem Award and the 1996 APTS 21st Century Award for visionary broadcasters. He was inducted into the Nebraska Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame in 1997.
The Board expresses its gratitude for Jack McBride's dedication to public broadcasting during his long and distinguished career; his impact and his legacy reach far beyond his home state. The Board extends its deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
