The Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting recognizes the exceptional contributions of Claudia Puig, who, during her distinguished service on the board, has helped public broadcasting fulfill its mission and its promise to reach out to unserved and underserved audiences. Through her insights into the Latino and immigrant communities in Florida, she has been instrumental in creating a greater awareness of the need for public broadcasting to reflect this country's changing demographics.
We are grateful for the outstanding work Claudia Puig has done as Chairman of the Audit and Finance Committee and we applaud her commitment to embracing the governance reforms and improvements that CPB has made in recent years. Throughout her career, Ms. Puig has played a leadership role in numerous public broadcasting and community service organizations. Named one of the 50 most influential women in radio by Radio Ink Magazine in 2003, Ms. Puig is one of the nation's premier broadcast executives with more than 20 years of experience in Latino media.
The public broadcasting community has benefited from that experience as well as from Ms. Puig's invaluable and unique perspective. We, the Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, express our deep appreciation for the work, leadership, dedication, and friendship of Claudia Puig.
