RESOLVED,
That the Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting Expresses Its Deep Appreciation for the Contributions of
Larry Smith
General Manager of
KUED-TV, Salt Lake City, 2000- 2010
The Board of Directors of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting recognizes Mr. Smith's extraordinary record of service in public broadcasting.
Mr. Smith utilized his broadcast and production ingenuity to help KUED evolve and flourish. Under his leadership KUED-TV became the first recipient of the Overall Station Excellence Award from the Rocky Mountain Regional Emmy Awards.
A champion of education, Mr. Smith developed KUED's Ready to Learn initiative, which trains adults to use PBS children's television and online content directly with children ages 0-8, particularly those who may be at risk of educational failure because of poverty, limited English proficiency, disability and/or community conditions.
The Board of Directors is grateful for the leadership, commitment, and service of Larry Smith and wishes him well in his future endeavors.
