Vincent Curren, Executive VP and COO

Vincent Curren, an accomplished broadcast executive with more than 20 years experience at the senior management level in public radio, was named CPB's chief operating officer in July 2006.

Previously, Curren served as CPB's senior vice president for Radio, overseeing the Corporation's radio operations, including the Public Radio Public Service Competitive Funds, which supports new strands of national programming and helps stations increase their public service. He was responsible for policy development around public radio's use of new technologies to better serve its listeners, and for CPB's Radio Community Service Grant program.

Curren is a former general manager of WXPN in Philadelphia. Prior to becoming general manager at WXPN, he served as assistant manager for programming and operations, assistant station manager for business affairs, and assistant station manager for development. Early in his career, he worked in both public and commercial television.

Curren is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, and he received a master's in organizational dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.
