Support for NPR’s yearlong effort to deepen its investigative, analytical, and explanatory journalism concerning the economy and to put a human face on events unfolding in places throughout the country. This coverage produces about 10 economic stories a week from NPR- and/or station-based reporters.

NPR (National Public Radio), Washington, D.C.—A privately supported, not-for-profit membership organization, NPR produces and distributes programming that reaches more than 26 million listeners weekly. More than 900 stations nationwide broadcast NPR programming. With original online content and audio streaming, NPR.org offers hourly newscasts, special features, and ten years of archived audio and information. NPR also operates the program distribution/interconnection facilities of the Public Radio Satellite System. Public Interactive (PI), based in Boston, Massachusetts, is a division of NPR that administers the SoundExchange agreement. PI offers a full suite of online services, collaborative tools, and applications for the public broadcasting industry, including community engagement technologies, content syndication services, and member- and audience-relationship-management systems. More than 130 public radio and television stations currently subscribe.
