PUBLIC MEDIA RESPONSE TO THE H1N1 OUTBREAK

PRX, Inc.

Cambridge, MA

$245,478

This grant supports design, development, launch, promotion, and management of a Web service that provides public broadcasters and others with news, other information, and tools to respond to the current global H1N1 flu pandemic. The service collects and curates content created by public broadcasting’s station-based and independent producers, and aggregates information from federal, state, and local government agencies and other reputable sources. The service also makes the collected content available for easy digital distribution to public broadcasters, their partners, and other sites under noncommercial terms of use.

Our Non-Licensee Partner(s)

Public Radio Exchange (PRX), Cambridge, Massachusetts—A private, not-for-profit, Web-based marketplace for public radio pieces, PRX is a collaboration of the Station Resource Group and Atlantic Public Media of Woods Hole, Massachusetts. On www.prx.org, programmers find work from other stations, independent producers, and international broadcasters. Producers—whether station-based or independent—license their work directly to broadcast stations that want to air it.
