Support to design a 12-month, nationwide Latino initiative that continues StoryCorps’ mission “to honor and celebrate one another’s lives through listening.” The plan outlines the major activities and program elements of the initiative to collect approximately 900 interviews from Latino participants in at least six sites. Edited interviews are featured on public radio and on storycorps.net in both English and Spanish.

StoryCorps is one of the largest oral history projects of its kind, and millions listen to its weekly broadcasts on NPR’s Morning Edition and on its “Listen” pages. Sound Portraits Productions, the predecessor to StoryCorps, was established as a not-for-profit corporation in 1994 by MacArthur Fellow David Isay. Sound Portraits Productions is no longer an active organization.
