This project supports additional Nova programming within the Framework for a Public Television Primetime Strategy, which is to strengthen the core program series of the National Program Service. Research found that most viewers want science programs broadcast more often and with regularly scheduled original shows. This amendment covers the third year of a three-year strategic plan to: increase the number of original programs, particularly high-quality event programs; reinforce relationships between the show, local stations, and their members; tie the show into local fundraising; increase the show’s Web presence to attract younger audiences; develop new underwriting sources of support, and evaluate the impact of these changes to ensure sustained support for Nova.
