DAMIEN

Nino J. Martin

Honolulu, HI

In the late 1800s, the Roman Catholic priest Father Damien de Veuster dedicated his life to the physical and spiritual care of Hansen’s disease patients on the confined “leper colony” of Kalaupapa on the Hawaiian island of Moloka’i. In this one-man play, Damien reminisces about his life in Kalaupapa and toils with the inner battle between his life as a human being and his life as a servant of God.
