Public Media in Your State
Maine
Hosted by Frank Ferrel, MPBN’s new series Conversations with Maine takes viewers on location to meet with people throughout Maine who have unique insights on the state’s economy, culture, and environment. Incredible Maine, a 13-part series airing Saturdays at 10:30 a.m., goes behind the scenes and inside the heads of some of Maine’s most incredible places and people. Hosted by L. C. Van Savage, the series is part magazine format, part documentary, and part music show.
One of MPBN’s many public affairs lecture radio series, Speaking in Maine features diverse speakers recorded in towns and cities throughout the state and airs weekdays at 1:00 p.m. The Friday afternoon series Down Memory Lane, hosted by veteran broadcaster Toby Leboutillier, takes listeners on a weekly trip through time, spinning songs that debuted on that day in history. Between vintage recordings, the host discusses news articles published in that day’s Bangor Daily News. The program has been on the air for 30 years.
