WXXI-TV in Rochester produces a weekly TV series that teaches kids about money. Biz Kid$ features compelling stories from real-life kid entrepreneurs and reinforces the importance of budgeting, saving, and giving back to the community.

WNET produces Need To Know, a syndicated public affairs program, and Reel 13, a film showcase for movie buffs. Broadcast Saturday at 9 p.m., Reel 13’s lineup includes a classic feature, a short film chosen by visitors to WNET’s Web site, and a new indie feature.

WAMC-FM in Albany produces Northeast Report and Northeast Report—Late Edition, half-hour magazine-style programs that air news and information weekdays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:05 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., respectively. Both programs feature reports from WAMC News bureau chiefs as well as commentary, arts news and interviews, the latest weather forecast, and an afternoon business wrap-up.

Heard on WNYC since 1987, Spinning on Air presents the latest in unusual music. Recently, its emphasis has been in-studio performances by passionate, personal, adventurous songwriters. The program is hosted David Garland, who specializes in making connections and bringing attention to the neglected, forgotten, and uncategorizable.
