Public Media in Your State
Rhode Island
Every Thursday at 7 p.m., Rhode Island PBS broadcasts A Lively Experiment, a talk show where news analysts and news makers debate the latest issues in Rhode Island politics. On Mondays at 7 p.m., New England Portrait brings to life the compelling stories of people and places of local interest with in-studio interviews and video segments.
WRNI-FM produces This I Believe―Rhode Island, a weekly program modeled on the popular 1950s radio series of the same name hosted by Edward R. Murrow. Hosted by Frederic Reamer, the program shares personal stories and experiences of the people of Rhode Island, allowing listeners to share their own beliefs and experiences through essays presented on air. Several times a year, on One Square Mile, WRNI-FM’s devotes an entire week to cover one square mile of Rhode Island from a variety of angles: politics, education, health care, economy, and history.
