PBS will plan the research and development of a multimedia project that includes a four-part television series and transmedia content exploring cold-case murders in the South dating from the civil rights era. The project is a collaboration between WNET.org, the Center for Investigative Reporting, Paperny Films, and award-winning journalists. The R&D will result in a production proposal, episode treatments, a full project budget, a fundraising plan, a standards-based education plan, a strategy for community engagement, and a multiplatform distribution plan that will include a digital museum.
