This digital media production, audience engagement, education, and transmedia initiative focuses on African American photographs, history, and story-sharing. Users will be able to upload their family photographs, video, and text, creating a living repository for the African American experience. The initiative will create content to be included in Through a Lens Darkly, a documentary on African American photographers. The project will be part of BlackPublicMedia.org, the National Black Programming Consortium’s multimedia initiative. The collaboration will develop interactive photo manipulation and mobile applications that will be made available to any future CPB-funded digital application bank.
