This film will explore the tension between white racial identity and black cultural propriety at a time when hip-hop is redefining American life. This film will ask: What’s at stake in the white adoption of hip-hop music and culture? Does it represent cultural progress or does it perpetuate a long tradition of racist stereotypes and cultural thievery?
