This two-year project will support the expansion of Frontline to a year-round footprint in PBS primetime. Beginning in fall 2010, the series will add seven new magazine-format programs to each season for rapid-response coverage of breaking news stories. Frontline producers and editors will mentor young journalists producing the new digital and broadcast content. Additional archived Frontline programs will be cleared for rebroadcast throughout the 2010–2011 and 2011–2012 seasons. The project will also help Frontline deepen existing collaboration with public service media and organizations. Ongoing evaluation will be conducted to measure the impact of a yearlong season on the PBS primetime schedule and online.
