A one-hour musical special celebrating Broadway and presented by President and Mrs. Obama, “A Broadway Celebration” will be taped in the White House East Room for a PBS broadcast on October 20, 2010. Hosted by Nathan Lane, it will feature performances by Audra McDonald, Patti LuPone, Matthew Morrison, and Marvin Hamlisch. The program will be promoted before and after the broadcast on social media sites and will be streamed live on WhiteHouse.gov and on PBS.org, accompanied by a Facebook chat widget.
