Following the creation of a prototype under a previous R&D grant from CPB, this grant is for the production and dissemination of a multimedia initiative to help middle and high school students understand American history. This phase will create at least three free online video games set in different eras of American history. In addition, the project includes: a Web site with classroom resources, activities and social networking opportunities for teachers and students; a 30-minute broadcast component for the public television system; and a partnership with at least one textbook publisher.
