CPB Ready To Learn (RTL) Statewide Planning Agreements fund public broadcasting stations to work with state education agencies to assess, align, and integrate research-tested and curriculum-based RTL products and services into early childhood education. KTWU will work with the Kansas State Department of Education and additional partners to align RTL resources to Kansas curricular standards in early childhood and early elementary school education and to develop an online guide to promote the usage of aligned RTL materials. Together, CPB and the U.S. Department of Education have financed the creation of numerous high-quality digital media through the RTL initiative. RTL products and services—which include content from six public television series designed to support the reading skills of children aged 2 to 8, with a special emphasis on reaching children from low-income families—provide critical support to young children, parents, teachers, childcare providers, and community facilities.
