The second phase of developing Super Why! to build reading achievement for children aged 3 to 6 will create a Super Why! multiplatform content extension. Its three objectives:
1) develop new television programming with educational content that can be applied to a broad range of off-air categories;
2) produce new digital content that gives families more reasons and opportunities to improve their literacy skills; and
3) leverage the new content off-air through consumer product and retail applications that maximize learning interactions for the target audience.
Income from licensing, merchandising, and marketing opportunities will help fund 10 new episodes a year on an ongoing basis.
