This year’s annual production funding for Latino Public Broadcasting (LPB), one of the National Minority Consortia, will be increased by 50 percent over the previous year to address CPB’s immediate priority of increasing the amount of diverse content available for public media distribution. In 2010, LPB will increase the level of engagement with the increasingly diverse Latino population, the fastest-growing market segment in the country. The increased support will enable LPB to conduct viral marketing campaigns in conjunction with stations in targeted communities. The additional funds will also enable LPB to increase the amount of diverse content available during primetime hours, as well as support LPB in building a larger professional development footprint by partnering with national Hispanic organizations.
