As part of its Ready To Learn (RTL) initiative, CPB has funded PBS’s development of three online professional development courses for childcare providers and early childhood educators. CPB also provided supplementary funds to producers of three Ready to Learn properties—Super Why!, The Electric Company, and WordWorld—to develop and implement technological enhancements to improve and augment their outreach to young children and their caregivers. The Education Development Center (EDC) will conduct two separate evaluation projects, one of the online professional development courses and one of the technological enhancement projects. Each evaluation will culminate in a final report that summarizes the evaluation findings.
