This year’s annual production funding for NAPT, one of the national minority consortia, will be increased by 50 percent over the previous year to address CPB’s immediate priority of increasing the amount of diverse content available for public media distribution. The additional funds will support NAPT’s efforts to reach indigenous and modern Indians on all platforms and will support its engagement with Native youths on reservations. The additional resources will also enable NAPT to bolster its current educational offerings to include digital learning objects, Web-based resources, and other support for educators, as well as help NAPT deepen relationships with station communities. This will help to increase the amount of diverse content available to public media and provide more options for underserved communities to connect with public service media.
