This year’s annual production funding for Pacific Islanders in Communications, one of the National Minority Consortia, will be increased by 50 percent over the previous year to address CPB’s immediate priority of increasing the amount of diverse content available for public media distribution. The additional funds will provide critical resources to develop skills of Pacific Islander content creators and support increased engagement with audiences beyond Hawai‘i, as well as support PIC’s workforce development efforts. It will also enable PIC to collaborate with local media and state organizations to identify and train promising Pacific Islander artists.
