Telling America’s Stories: The Next Decade and Beyond (Florentine Films 2008–2017)

This will be the third year of funding of a 10-year grant (2008–2017) for Ken Burns to develop and produce programming about America's stories. Each year’s $2 million grant will be tied to specific projects: Prohibition (contracted in 2008); Baseball: The Tenth Inning (contracted in 2008); Vietnam, the Dust Bowl, the Roosevelts, Martin Luther King Jr., the American buffalo, Ernest Hemingway, the Central Park Five rape of a jogger, and America: A Family Story (tracing 200 years of American history by following generations of a single family or several families). Separate agreements will be entered into for each project.
