This grant will support the July 1, 2010 launch of the World channel, a digital service designed to support public television stations. World will deliver both broadband and digital content and help to extend the reach of public media to new communities. In addition, World will serve as a model for innovation and diversity in public media by demonstrating the effective usage of digital spectrum as a method to connect stations with younger, more diverse audiences.
