In partnership with six other public media stations, KQED in the San Francisco Bay Area of California is creating an operational infrastructure and business model for affordably expanding production of its successful science, technology, engineering and mathematics news program Quest. KQED and its partners will scale the production model to include new regional hubs that enable production efficiencies and increase audience reach through cross-platform content distribution. The expansion is also an opportunity for development of a new collaborative content creation and distribution model that can demonstrate effective ways of building new educational content and tools throughout the country.
Quest includes formal partnerships with Northern California’s leading science centers, environmental organizations, museums, zoos, aquariums and community-based groups.
