This is a renewal of funding for the next phase of State of the Re:Union (SOTRU), an innovative, multimedia, multiplatform project that provides content to the World channel, NPR, public radio stations and digital outlets. The project travels the country, creating one-hour radio episodes, short video documentaries, podcasts, image galleries and articles to immerse its audiences in the distinctive culture and sensibilities of a community. Host Al Letson represents a new face and voice for public media, and SOTRU provides a younger, more diverse perspective for the audience. The project’s goal is to help shape and define public media in the digital landscape. Combined with its community engagement and social media activities, the project is pioneering an integrated approach to digital storytelling that reflects the diversity of America.
