The Moth is a storytelling sensation. The radio program has been carried on more than 225 public radio stations; its podcast is downloaded more than 1.3 million times per month; and it has won a 2011 Peabody Award. The program and podcast feature first-person stories recorded live at The Moth’s ongoing storytelling shows across the country. Each episode celebrates an array of voices and experiences that illuminate the audience’s understanding of the diversity and commonality of human experience. This one-year grant will support production of 10 additional radio episodes as well as 35 podcasts and videos. It will also allow for additional community outreach.
