The Promised Land is a public radio series about leaders and visionaries who are transforming lives and communities. In just its first year of production, the program was recognized with a 2011 Peabody Award, one of broadcasting’s highest honors. Host Majora Carter brings a broad range of new perspectives to public radio, using in-depth interviews to delve into issues of race, class and sustainability. The program, which is distributed by American Public Media and heard on 125 stations, will reach and engage audiences through broadcast, the Internet and social media.
