Southern California Public Radio will launch the One Nation Media Project, which will produce high-quality, English-language, multimedia news coverage for the region’s Latino communities. The centerpiece of the project is a daily two-hour news magazine that will provide a significant broadcast platform for the content produced by the overall initiative. The project will create online channels, develop a mobile application and use crowd-sourcing and social media to reach a diverse range of Latino audiences. The project will also include multiple community engagement events and development of marketing and evaluation plans. Project content will be shared widely with other public media organizations, such as the Fronteras Local Journalism Center. This grant supports the establishment and operation of this project for a 12-month period.
