The NALIP Latino Producers Academy is a 10-day professional development workshop for Latinos and Native American content makers, at which more than a dozen producers of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds followed a curriculum developed to enhance their skills in development and distribution of video materials, including proposal construction, marketing, pitching and new media applications. Instructors and mentors came from within the public television community, including staff from POV, Independent Television Service, WGBH and Arizona Public Media. The PBS World production/commissioning team also assisted academy fellows in developing short-form content appropriate for the World channel.
