The Public Insight Network (PIN) helps journalists create content using intelligent sourcing and community engagement. It is now in use by 45 newsrooms across the country. With this two-year grant, American Public Media is to expand, improve and fully implement PIN with a greater number of stations, enabling journalists to make their content more transparent and stations to produce accurate, balanced, reliable and contextual content and information for broadcast, online, mobile and other platforms. This digital platform will increase balance and accuracy, strengthen fact-based reporting and broaden the diversity of sources that inform journalists. It will result in an additional 50 newsrooms producing hundreds of better informed news stories.
