Sara Solves It Pilot (working title) (formerly Mathis Mysteries)
This pilot for a mathematics series targeted to children aged 4 to 7 is to be co-produced by WGBH and Out of the Blue, producers of Super Why. The series is designed to challenge children and build their self-esteem, while also making them laugh. The mystery approach to problem-solving will enable producers to add intrigue, drama and excitement to a curriculum based on principles that have been proven in field testing to help children learn mathematics. Out of the Blue will focus on the development of creative elements—character development, design and scripting—and the field testing and final evaluation. WGBH will focus on the production and implementation—through animation, multiple media platforms and outreach implementation, and it will provide fiscal oversight and management for the entire project.
