PIC—FY 2011 contract

This is a one-year grant to provide programmatic and operational support for Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC), one of the national minority programming consortia designated by CPB to provide culturally relevant content for the public media system. CPB funds these consortia as part of its commitment to develop and fund high-quality, culturally diverse programming for the American viewing public. The grant will provide resources for PIC to continue ongoing activities to reach and attract Pacific Islander communities to public media. In addition, CPB funds will support an NPS project, as well as training initiatives in American Samoa to foster the development of multiplatform content by Pacific Islander media makers. In the past, PIC was awarded separate contracts for programming and operations activities; the FY 2011 agreement will include support for both under one agreement.
