Frontline: The Next Generation

This two-year project was to support the expansion of Frontline to a year-round footprint in PBS primetime. In 2010, the series added seven new magazine-format programs to each season that give it the capacity to provide rapid-response coverage of domestic and international stories, and social and cultural issues. The build-out of Frontline’s presence will create a larger space on-air and online for a new generation of diverse video journalists. Frontline producers and editors will mentor these young journalists to produce the new digital and broadcast content. Investigative reporting can originate online and then migrate to broadcast. Additional archived Frontline programs will be cleared for rebroadcast throughout the 2010–2011 and 2011–2012 seasons.
