AFI-CPB Digital Training

In 2004, the American Film Institute Digital Content Lab (AFI DCL -- formerly AFI eTV) and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting built on a long-standing relationship with a training program designed to build digital innovation in the public broadcasting community. Eight participants from the PBS community received a stipend to take part in a 6-month prototyping exercise for a commercial or PBS project.

This year, AFI-CPB training initiatives have expanded. Both "Fellowships" (cash awards and team participation in an R&D project) and "Scholarships" (travel vouchers to selected AFI DCL training events) are offered.

The former AFI Enhanced TV Lab has undergone a transformation to the AFI Digital Content Lab. Now, in addition to iTV productions, the PBS community will have access to a broader digital agenda in the AFI DCL. Prototyping projects and training initiatives may also cover broadband, wireless, gaming, and other digital arenas.

Don't miss an opportunity to train with the leaders of the digital community, contribute your own inspired thoughts and experience, and bring a fresh perspective to your own future productions.
