2006 Digital Radio Conversion Fund
Fiscal Year 2006 Funding Cycle
The CPB Board has approved an allocation of $13 million to fund the Fiscal Year 2006 Digital Radio Conversion fund.
The funding levels for individual grants are unchanged from the previous grant rounds. A CPB-qualified licensee may apply for a grant of up to $75,000 per transmitter converted, but the total grant may not exceed 70 percent of the total eligible digital conversion cost. Minority and rural stations may apply for a grant of up to $85,000 per transmitter converted, but the total grant may not exceed 80 percent of the total eligible digital conversion cost. Licensees unable to complete a digital conversion project at the standard funding levels may request consideration for Hardship Status. Hardship consideration requires additional documentation as described in the application materials. Any hardship determination is at CPB's sole discretion.
