CPB Nielsen Digital Encoders Program

As a result of public broadcasting's transition from analog to digital broadcasting, current meters no longer accurately measure public television veiwership. The CPB Nielsen Digital Encoder Program will reimburse individual stations purchasing the new Nielsen encoders at a 60/40 CPB/station split. This program will consist of individual equipment grants to some 250 stations by a first come, first serve protocol.

Stations will be reimbursed for up to $4,200 per encoder unit for their primary station of any mixture of two NAVE II or NAVE IIc encoders.
