Small Station Statewide Collaboration Initiative

The Small Station Statewide Collaboration Initiative (SSSCI) is a competitive grant program that offers financial assistance to facilitate the creation of collaborative relationships through statewide or regional associations among public television stations that share common cause and collaborative interest in serving a broader definition of community that extends beyond their coverage areas. Grants will go to strategic alliances that demonstrate clear sustainable value with positive results beyond those that any single organization could realize operating independently.

The SSSCI seeks to:

  • Develop significant new services that can be accomplished most effectively through a state-wide, or regional association, thereby
  • Gaining recognition, support and influence among local, statewide and regional opinion leaders.

SSSCI is a grant program designed to work in tandem with and in support of CPB's Public Awareness Initiative (PAI), My Source. My Source is designed to increase recognition of public broadcasting (television and radio) as a trusted, relevant and essential resource in America's communities. Participation in the PAI is an essential element for stations to further establish their value in the communities they serve.

The SSSCI program will help stations make the strongest case for statewide or regional relevance by promoting its successes, thereby gaining critical support of opinion leaders and leveraging local resources. Awards of up to $200,000 may be granted.
