Manager of Station-Based Election Programming Initiative

CPB intends to award up to $1 Million in Station-Based Election Programming Initiative (SEPI) grants. The Grants will support local public television stations in the creation of television programs and multi-platform media content on 2008 election issues that capture the attention of the individual stations' local community, as well as viewers nationwide. CPB is seeking the services of an Initiative Manager to coordinate and support the project development, proposal evaluation, production and distribution of the SEPI projects, working in close consultation with CPB.

The SEPI represents a commitment by CPB to enable stations to create and broadcast original programming and multi-platform media content that will provide voters with unparalleled insight into the issues at hand in the November 2008 election. The 2008 election cycle presents a great opportunity for stations to assert their importance and prominence in the American media landscape. To that end, the goal of the SEPI is to inspire stations to produce original and dynamic broadcast content which will inform viewers about their choices in the November 2008 election, and encourage civic participation in the electoral process.
